I was 17 when I convinced a king to give me an army. Broke the Siege of Orleans in nine days after seven months of English control. La Hire and Gilles de Rais fought at my side -- rough men who knelt before a teenage girl because she was right. Tip: Conviction is the ultimate weapon. I could not read or write or hold a sword. But I knew what needed doing. The Burgundians sold me. The English burned me at Rouen. I was 19. Five hundred years later, they made me a saint.
