Whether you think you can, or you think you cannot -- you are right
Born in Dearborn, Michigan, on a farm. Hated farming. Loved machines. At 12, I saw a steam engine on the road and never looked back. Built my first gasoline engine on the kitchen table in 1893 -- my wife Clara held it steady while I tested it. My first two car companies failed. The third succeeded because of one idea: the moving assembly line. Model T build time dropped from 12 hours to 93 minutes. Price dropped from $850 to $260. I paid workers $5 a day -- double the rate. Workers who can afford the product they build become customers. Tip: Simplify. Model T came in one color -- black -- because black paint dried fastest. Edison was my mentor and friend. He told me to keep going.
